Privacy Policy

The short version: Olmo is local-first. Your recordings, transcripts, and notes are stored on your Mac. Olmo runs no analytics, does not track you, and never sells or shares your personal data.

Olmo (“the app”, “we”) is an open-source macOS application that records meetings, transcribes them, and generates summaries. This policy explains what information Olmo handles and how.

Recordings, transcripts, and notes

Audio is captured on your Mac while you record. To turn speech into text and text into summaries, audio and transcripts are sent to the third-party providers you configure with your own API keys — Deepgram (transcription) and OpenAI (summaries) — and are processed under your own accounts with those providers. Olmo does not store this content on any Olmo-operated server. Your recordings, transcripts, and summaries are saved locally on your Mac.

Google account data (Google Sign-In & Google Calendar)

If you choose to connect your Google account, Olmo requests:

• Basic profile information — your name, email address, and profile picture, via Google Sign-In — used only to sign you in and personalize the app.
• Read-only access to your Google Calendar (scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly) — used to show your upcoming meetings inside the app and let you start notes from a calendar event. Olmo only reads calendar data; it never creates, edits, or deletes your events.

This Google data is stored locally on your device, and your Google sign-in tokens are stored securely in the macOS Keychain. Olmo does not transmit your Google data to any Olmo-operated server, and does not share it with third parties.

Limited Use disclosure

Olmo’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Notion (optional)

If you connect Notion, the summaries you choose to export are sent to your own Notion workspace using a token you provide, only for the actions you authorize.

How your data is stored

• Recordings, transcripts, summaries, and notes: stored locally on your Mac.
• API keys and authentication tokens: stored in the macOS Keychain on your device.
• Olmo includes no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and operates no server that stores your meeting content.

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data. Data leaves your device only to the third-party services you explicitly connect, using your own credentials, and is then governed by those providers’ privacy policies:

• Deepgram — deepgram.com/privacy
• OpenAI — openai.com/policies/privacy-policy
• Google — policies.google.com/privacy
• Notion — notion.so/privacy

Your choices and control

• Revoke Olmo’s access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, or by signing out in the app.
• Delete your recordings, transcripts, and notes from within the app at any time.
• Remove your API keys at any time in Settings.

Children’s privacy

Olmo is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
